That’s awesome, but I wish there was one with his second proposal… something along the lines of “I still feel the same way, do you?”

I would like to see Mr. Knightley’s declaration (”If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more”) and Captain Wentworth’s (”I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope”).
Or even better, this: “My being charming, Harriet, is not quite enough to induce me to marry; I must find other people charming — one other person at least.”
I love Jane Austen.

I just squealed at reading that. Have read the book no fewer than 20 times, and I still reacted like a total “Lydia”.

Not only do I love the shirt, but I completely love that I’m following so many fun, clever comments about it. Nerds unite!

1) The ‘You Might Also Like’ features a blog post and a photo of moi. I bet other might also like me too.
2) I suppose it’s time for me to crack open Pride and Prejudice, isn’t it…

A local theater company did a version of Pride and Prejudice that was absolutely awesome. They were selling mugs with this on it as well as t-shirts that said “the future Mrs. Darcy”

Gorgeous.
For the somewhat flat-chested, but GORGEOUS nonetheless.

I still have a thing for the opening: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”

I’m officially in love with this shirt!
“All Jane Austen, all the time. It’s the perfect antidote.”
“To what?”
“To life.”

must. have. now.

GASP! You had me at “In vain I have struggled. . .” Be still my heart.
By Natalie on 02.11.10 11:48 pm | Permalink
Isn’t it sad though that the words ‘It will not do’ are written right across your breasts?
By The Coffee Lady on 02.12.10 5:35 am | Permalink
Truth be told…my heartrate doubled just from reading that first line “in vain I have struggled…”
How many times have we rewound the DVD just to watch him say that over and over?
Many many
(Ditto for Capt. Wenworth’s “You pierce my soul…)
I am all aflutter.

I love that quote and I want that shirt! I actually picked up a pin at Mom 2.0 from the DVR people with an abridged version of that quote on it. It’s just the most romantic moment in literature ever.
So great meeting you yesterday - hope you enjoyed the rest of the summit and had a good trip back home!
