entirely true, but exaggerated for comic effect
other places (in case you think I’m just over here eating Thin Mints)

This year, I bought something like $60.00 worth of Girl Scout cookies.  I had a total of 12 boxes of Thin Mints in my possession at one time, because you can never get enough of the Thin Mints, apparently.

In my defense, I took four of those boxes to my neighbor, and put another four in the freezer, and Charlie ate at least an entire box himself.  And the other three I am blaming for the fact that my jeans don’t fit right.

Damn Girl Scouts.

In between cookie-induced sugar highs, I’ve been doing some writing (I KNOW!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???).  I wrote about why I love being a girl for the newly launched Daily Grommet blog (be sure to check out their cool product offerings, every day, over there on the right or at The Daily Grommet).  I also begged for the Internet’s help finding the Perfect Mascara (I know, we’ve been down this road before but HELP ME INTERNET! I need really great mascara).

And in case your Friday mornings are feeling empty, I’m back at The Working Closet, sharing the workload with the superfabulous Sarah James, who I would like to keep in my closet so she could advise me what to do with my hair every day.  Do you think she would go for that?  I mean, it would totally be fun.  Don’t you think?

I would probably need to remodel the closet though.  I mean, it’s not very comfortable now, although I do have a lot of J. Crew stuff in Sarah’s size …

Girl Scout cookies have no calories, silly! ;)

You know, it’s funny. I, too, have been working on a bunch of new writing projects (hurrah!) AND I’ve mysteriously gained 5 lbs. while doing so. Um? It seems cruel to at long last be experiencing a tiny measure of writing glory but be paying for it (apparently?) with 5 extra lbs. And I don’t even have any Girl Scout cookies to blame it on!

That reminds me…I ordered Thin Mints. Where the heck is that girl scout?

I am too lazy to login at Blogher to respond to the mascara question, so I am responding here. I have used Cover Girl Professional (with the CURVED brush, not the straight brush, there are both available) for literally 12 years. I love it. Love it. Would never use another kind. It stays on, doesn’t smudge, lengthens, curls, and washes the floors. Well, maybe not the last one, but its pretty awesome anyway.

Have you tried MAC’s Prep and Prime (white primer first coat) and then using your current mascara? I totally love this product. It makes my lashes thick and long at the same time.

We had a couple boxes of girl scout cookies that vanished in much the same way.

It’s awfully suspicious…

Susan,

We are so happy that you helped us kick off our blog….but you set the “quality of thought” bar very high. I will have a hard time living up to it, at Daily Grommet. We can’t wait for you to write for us again.

(Founder of Daily Grommet, and Susan fan)

Mascara, cookies, writing ….. lot of information in one post. You really know to compress thinks :)

So, here’s another praise of L’Oreal Voluminous…. does wonders for thickening and legnthening…

i swear by Dior Show waterproof. it only took me 24 years to find it (ive been wearing makeup since age 13 so you do the math). but seriously, i can wear this through a 12+hour night shift in a busy NICU and look good at the end of the shift without the Ricky the Raccoon look or the flaky mess under the eyes. I get it at Sephora for $24. it is well worth it.

oops I meant 34 years. i shouldn’t let my grandbaby crawling for the 1st time distract me like that.

Those darn cookies! I have the same problem!
