Wade: I finished reading War and Peace.
Me: Good for you.
Wade: Ask me how it was.
Me: How was it?
Wade: Meh. It was fine.
Me: Weirdo.

Please thank the hubby for the “Wade Notes” version. The book has been on my shelf for years and now I don’t have to actually read it.

I haven’t read War & Peace, but I spent a semester reading Proust.
And one day, I’d like to read it again, a little more slowly. It’s a lot to cover in one semester.

That’s almost as irritating as when my dad read Catch-22 and Catcher in the Rye and said “They had too much cursing” in response to me asking how he liked them. I wanted to hit him.

That is how I felt when I finally finished reading Moby Dick.
Wait no - I hated that.

I don’t think I’ve found too many books where I could say that. None that are coming to mind.
I’m pretty sure I’ve said that about a few meals though.

I loved War and Peace. Just re-read it two months ago and still a fan! Also loved Anna Karenina. Tolstoy is a beautiful writer, and I think we can all learn something about human nature from them.
