On Saturday night, I had a chance to sit down with Tim Gunn and talk about Michelle Obama and three way mirrors and The Working Closet Flickr pool (hat tip to Grace Davis for suggesting that I tell him about that).
Tim Gunn is warm and kind and incredibly smart. He was a pleasure to talk with — articulate and funny and genuine. He was fascinated by Twitter, and when I admitted that I still had no real idea how Facebook works, he said, “Oh I’m so glad to hear you say that!” He had been at the White House on Friday, for lunch with the First Lady, and was clearly starstruck by her, which I found charming. And also ironic, because of course I was completely starstruck by Tim Gunn.
I had spent two weeks fretting about what to wear (J. Crew dress, Ann Taylor silk flats) but it was worth it; we sat down on the sofa to start the interview and Tim complimented my shoes (and that came after every single woman I saw in the two hours before the interview complimented my dress). Even better, though, he also liked my business cards — the calling card with nothing but my name on it — saying, “Now that is quality, taste and style!” And then I fell over dead on the floor because what else is left to live for?
Before I died, though, I asked him about how we know what looks good on us and why Mrs. Obama is a fashion icon and how we can all make it work without the help of a personal stylist. You can read it all at BlogHer.

You’ve met me in person, so you know that I am plainly NOT a fashionista …. but still, I LOVE Tim Gunn! Every show he’s on I am so impressed with his attitude and warmth and style and charm … SO jealous you got to meet him! Although since the pair of shoes I have on right now I bought at Academy Sports, I doubt he would be too impressed.

Tim Gunn is seriously one of the few reality tv people I would actually fawn over. How awesome that you got to meet and interview him.
Can you post picture of: 1) your shoes 20 your dress and 3) your business card? I want to see all 3.
