entirely true, but exaggerated for comic effect
I’m just givin’ it away over here (with a little help from Lands’ End)

Have you started your holiday shopping yet?  No?  I haven’t either!  Woo!

ZOMG we’re in trouble, aren’t we?  Sigh.

Fortunately, Lands’ End is here to help!  They’ve offered to give one lucky Friday Playdate reader a choice of one of three great holiday gifts.  Although you might not want to actually GIVE any of these things away.  It’s up to you.

Need a gift for a little boy?  Lands End is offering up a pair of Angel Fleece pajamas (retailing for $29.50).  They are super soft and super warm and SUPER cute.  Henry is in love with his, and Charlie is begging for a pair of his own (although Charlie wants the polar bear, not the penguin).

If you’re shopping for a kid who lives somewhere cold, or who just likes to hang out in his jammies all day, these are the bomb.  Available in toddler, little boy, and big boy sizes, in four colors.  SO CUTE.  I wish they came in my size.

Shopping for a grown up boy?  Keep his feet toasty with these fabulous shearling slippers.  Sheepskin upper, shearling lining, moccasin styling — perfect for kicking around the house.  If they came in a 15, I would totally be getting a pair for Wade.  Available in men’s sizes 8 to 13, in two shades of brown, for $45.00 free if you win the contest and choose these!

Finally, a gift you might not want to give away:  women’s terry travel slippers.  Styled like a pretty ballet flat, these are the best thing ever; the terry is soft and comfy, and the padded footbed makes them supercomfortable.  Plus the rubber sole protects your precious toes from cold floors.  AND — you can stash them in the great bag and toss them in your suitcase.  Or pop them in Mom’s stocking, because everyone loves slippers for the holidays.  Available in four colors for $25.00, which you won’t have to pay if you win and choose these.  (I love mine — I’ll be taking them to Chicago with me this week because I hear it’s COLD there.)

Made a choice?  Here’s how this works: you have until midnight on Thursday (Thanksgiving day) to leave a comment saying which gift you would like and who you will give it to.  And we’ll celebrate Black Friday by announcing a winner!  How fun is that.

So who can I help you shop for this year?

Land’s End sent a pair of slippers for me to test out, and a pair of fleecy pajamas for Henry. They are also providing a prize for one winner.

ooo, i love the women’s terry travel slippers. and they’d be for me, because i live in chicago & my feet are freezing!!!

Um, can I choose one of each? I can think of a happy home for all, but if it really came down to it, I think I’d be selfish and go for the travel slippers.

Oh I’d want the PJ’s for the BoyChild. He’s been sleeping in his underwear all summer and all his jammies are too small now that it’s gotten cold again.

I choose the boy’s pajamas for my grandson….xmas jammies are a family tradition at our house. I’ve got got granddaughter covered but cute boy pj’s are much trickier.

Both of my parents need new slippers and seeing as how I’ve made no money for the last six months (thank you, student teaching) - it would be awesome to win them their Christmas presents. I would go with the woman’s terry travel slippers, at least partly because I could totally steal them from my mom (yay, for wearing the same size!!)

I think my four year old would look mighty cute in those pjs!

Pajamas for sure… I’d give them to one of my sons.

Hmmmm my feet are freezing so the slippers are tempting, but the Mommy in me is saying go with the boy’s jammies. Soooo, the Mommy wins. I pick the jammies.

I’d get the men’s slippers for my hubby. He deserves to be cozy, too!

I would choose the travel slippers for my Mom, because that’s the only thing she asked for this year. These are much nicer than the ones I would have purchased!

The womens travel slippers, would be great for my Mom. She travels throughout the year to visit family and they would be great for her.

Slippers for my hubby please, afterall, he puts up with my freezing tootsies…

My grown up boy (Freshman in college, away from home for the first time, muh baybee!) could use the slippers to shuffle around in his dorm.

I would love the travel slippers, to give to my mom.

Have we heard of Minnesota? It’s mighty cold up here, and those jammies would be perfect for my Teen/Child who hasn’t quite outgrown snuggly jammies. And, he’s not wearing big man clothes yet!

I would choose the slippers for my dad. He never goes barefeet and his 100 year old flip flops could use replacing. Plus they live where it gets cold, but barely turn the heat on.

I’d give the travel slippers to my MIL.

Definitely the pajamas for my girl child. She wants to be a boy, so they would be perfect!

OHHH, the men’s slippers. They would be perfect for my hubby!

My son would love the jammies - winters in Minnesota are VERY cold!

My mom would love the slippers…

The slippers would be great for my sister in Cleveland (or her motherinlaw) and the jammies would be wonderful for my favorite 6 year old nephew…you choose!

I would pick the shearling slippers for my husband. He needs new ones since he has had his current ones since high school!

I’d have to go with the women’s slippers, as my mother-in-law’s birthday is in December, so instead of just having to struggle to think of what to get her for Christmas every year, I’m also lucky enough to have to come up with TWO ideas every December. It’s fun. Also, she travels a lot.

The men’s slippers would be for my son. His feet are always cold!

I would say the women’s terry slippers because my mom who is disabled leaves in a relatively new house b/c her burned and the floors are all hardwood or real rock. She complains all the time about her feet being cold.

I bought her a pair of just plain ol’ slippers but I’ve been on the look out for something really special that might help her stay warm. These would do it.

I’d pick the jammies for my 9 year old nephew in rural Ohio. I’d probably get them in green and blue; he’s old enough to be cynical about characters!

I’d love the jammies for my son!

I would love the pajamas for my son!

Oh my Heck! Ive been looking for those PJ’s - they are the only ones for winter my incredibly sweaty 3 year old will wear! So, I’d love those for him! I haven’t been able to find them in our Local Sears Lands End section, so Im happy to know they are still making them!

My son goes up to a freezing cottage every weekend in the winter and the pajamas would be great to warm him up!!!

Definately the fabulous shearling slippers for my son who is 17!

I’d love those pajamas for my little boy. We do a new pair of pajamas on Christmas Eve and those would be perfect!

Tough choice! I’d either pick the PJs for my son (& then order another pair for his brother) or the slippers for my mom.

I’d pick the slippers! I have a pair of Lands End slippers that I love but they’re getting worn out…

If I won the Angel Fleece PJs, I’d give them to my younger son, who’s well prepared for a flood in his current pajamas.

Men’s slippers for my dad. They have very cold tile floors and he’s a bear to shop for…

I would love the angel fleece pj’s for my darling boy.

i’d give those cozy travel slippers to my like-a-mom figure. :)

I’d pick the men’s slippers for my husband. His last pair was mistaken for a chew toy by our male (and not so bright) Great Dane, Jack. Luckily, my husband is a 13 so he’d just make it on the size chart. WHEW!

the men’s slippers - I am hoping they will inspire my husband to actually take the overstuffed garbage bag OUTSIDE to the trash bin and not leave it in the mudroom! If he had these toasty things to toss on his feet, maybe, just maybe, I could smile when I look into the mudroom. Dreams can come true, right?

I would love the slippers for my mom. She comes to visit often (in fact, today) and it would be so nice to have them here for her to use!

slippers for my sister…because she likes cozy things, and the pjs apparently don’t come in her size :)

The slippers for my husband who works so hard for us.

Hubby’s gotta have those slippers!

The slippers for my husband, who has had an unnatural obsession with slippers almost as long as I’ve known him, and whose current pair has been run as ragged as he has recently.

Delurking here!

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity and the potential shopping help! I totally need those shearling slippers for my brother-in-law, men are SO HARD TO BUY FOR!

If I’m the lucky one - I’m going with the awesome toddler PJ’s - my son’s room is FREEZING and space heaters scare me [electrical fires you know]. These look like just the thing to keep him warm, since apparently he cannot grasp the concept of keeping the blankets ON. ;-)

You and Lands End are great, thanks for this chance!

Men’s slippers for my fabulous husband (16 years today…happy anniversary, honey!)

I would pick the toddler PJs for a child’s name that we drew to buy Christmas gifts for.

Oh fun! The PJs for my 5-year old! We’ve turned the thermostat WAAAAY down this year and maybe these will keep him from trying to sneak into my bed in the middle of the night because he’s cold!

Oh, the boy’s pajamas–my three year old adores penguins, has three that he carries around with him all. day. long. And he has been asking for a set of pajamas like his big brother’s; wearing sweats to bed isn’t doing it for him anymore!

The fleece pjs for my son - he’s always kicking off the covers.

I would totally keep the slippers for myself - mine are old and cracking. Also, brown.

I would love the fleece pjs for my son. He is 4 and won’t stay under his covers.

Those jammies would be perfect for my snuggly one-year-old son.

I would choose the pjs. My son LOVES his pajamas and this would make his day!

I would love to win the fleece jammies for my son! He has grown like a weed this year & has outgrown most of his winter jammies.

I would like the penguin jammies. We are collecting Christmas gifts for families who need them through an effort called Armful of Love. Those warm, fuzzy jammies would find a wonderful home. Thanks.

I’d love those jammies for my sister’s little boy! He’s cuddly anyway, but with those, he’d be more so!

We’d love the boys jammies here! I’d probably get them big enough for my oldest son and then we could pass them down to the next 2 (maybe 3 if this pregnancy turns out to be another boy).

I would love the slippers and truthfully I would keep them for myself. My house is COLD!

oooh… my husband would love love love the men’s slippers.

Chalk me up for a pair of toddler jammies! I’m crawling with wee ones and we do nothing but hang around in our underwear/pj’s all day.

I pick the slippers. My husband has long wanted a pair of these shearling slippers, but I have long been too cheap to buy them. Thanks for the chance!

The big boy slippers would be perfect for SOMEONE I know who insists on cranking the heat up the second he catches a chill.

Ooh, I would love the the men’s slippers. I would give them to my husband who has been wearing the same pair for years because he loves them so much. I think he would give up the ratty pair for the new warm, fantastic Land’s End pair.

ooh! the slippers! DH wore his last set ragged (took him three years) and would be beside himself to have a new fuzzy pair…in size 12.

I have 8 nephews, so I could definitely use some help shopping this Christmas. I know one that would love the penguin angel fleece pj’s.

I would get the slippers for my DH. They look so nice and toasty warm - but they have a sole so he can go out and get the paper every morning.

The men’s slippers for my hubby. :)

Slippers for my mom or mother in law!

I’m donating to the pj’s and socks drive at work and so I would love to be able to give the fleece jammies to a cold child here in the Seattle area!

I would love the pj’s for my son Oliver. He would love them!

the jammies! tho’ my boy and the nephews would have to duke it out i suppose… thanks for the chance!

I would choose the pajamas for Harper! Sure, she’s a girl, but she loves loungewear. Loungewear with Arctic dwellers? Bonus.

Definitely the fleece pajamas for my little guy- so adorable!

ohh, I want the men’s slippers for my son . . .who is 9 . . . and who wears a men’s size 8 shoe (Where do you find 15s? I think I’ll need to know some day)

I’ve got to get (or wine) the men’s shearling slippers. My husband really needs these.

I’d have to go travel slippers….for me!!

I’d give those jammies to my husband. Do they come in tall sizes?

I’d give the women’s slippers to my mom. She’s putting down tile in her house (outside Chicago), and I think her feet will be veeeeeery chilly this winter. Plus, she’s very hard to shop for, and slippers are a great present idea.

I would give the women’t slippers to my mom. I was at the mall looking for something for her today and didn’t find anything. These slippers would be perfect for her! Thanks.

The fleece pjs - my son would LOVE them -one of his favorite things is pajama day!!

hmmm… how about the jammies for an angel tree boy since my boys are all grown up but don’t wear slippers.

My younger son would love the jammies. He spends countless hours, I mean minutes deliberating over which pair to wear each night. They are starting to get a bit short in the legs…time for new jammies.

Definitely the boys’ pajamas for my older son who is growing like a weed here in chilly Chicago. I handed him his pj’s tonight and he thought they were his little brother’s…

Travel slippers FTW!

I choose the boys pajamas, and I would give them to my son who is hypersensitive and has some skin issues with certain materials. He loves the fleece sheets that I got for him, and I know he would love the pajamas.

I would give the women’s toweling slippers to my good friend, Gigi. She is a great mom and also the sole caregiver to her mom. She does all this and works two part-time jobs. Also, her house is on the cold side…I think she would be toasty in these slippers.

ummm, i would totally give those angel fleece pj’s to my own boy! he will only wear SOFT pajamas and still calls fleecy pj’s “sleefy” pjs. they looks super soft and i know he’d love them!

My son would love the super soft, super cute pajamas.

Thanks,
P.

I’d give the jammies to my daughter. She needn’t know they’re for boys…. :-)

The PJs for my 8 year boy! They are even OSU colors! Perfect for all of those vacation mornings he plays lego all morning and doesn’t get dressed until noon.

I would get the penguin pajamas for my 4 year old son. He has asked for a stuffed penguin for Christmas, and the pajamas would be a perfect compliment to that!

My husband would love the slippers…

I need all 3 please! I have 3 boys so the pj or the slippers would be great. And my mom asked for slippers for Christmas so I could ckeck her off my list without stepping foot outside!

I would love the jammies. My seven year old boy loves all things penguin.

hi - i’d choose the travel terry slippers for my mom. my dad passed away six months ago and i’ve been trying to mail small gifts to her a few times each month since i live across the country from her. thanks!

I’d get my little angel the fleece angel Pjs!

women’s travel terry slippers…for me, but I’ll put them under the tree and mark them from my husband.

I would love to get the PJs for my 3 year old son. He loves penguins, and I would sleep better knowing he was warm. He refuses to stay under the covers, so like the good mother I am, I worry about him.

I would love the jammies for my oldest son. He’s grown out of all his pjs and he loves penguins!

I would love the women’s slippers for ME! My hubby does a pretty good job of suprising me for Christmas, but a little extra for this stay at home mom would be awesome! Thanks

PJs for my son - I need him to stay warm enough that he doesn’t get in our bed at 3 AM. (Turns four in a week - kicks all covers off.)

I love the jammies for my godson! They are adorable.

I have to go with the travel slippers although I never go anywhere I would keep them for myself! There I’m selfish.

Oh oh oh! The men’s shearling slippers (sz 10)! Because well… my poor hubby loves to wear slippers on his feet and had a pair for years (we’re talking like 10?) that were quite worn. So last year I thought new slippers would be a nice gift. He was super sweet and said he loved them and they were comfy, and I believed him… until I slipped them on. There is nothing to them but the rubber sole! So, yeah. The men’s slippers for my sweet, silenting suffering husband. Thanks!

I would have to go with the toddler pajamas for my cute godson who is freezing here in Minnesota!

I love them all, but I would probably pick the pj’s.

Slippers without a doubt. For my son, who has feet like a man but is always cold. (damn his .5% body fat!)

The womens slippers because we are a family that wears house shoes and I am still wearing my flip flops from this summer. And our entire house is ceramic tile. I need fuzzy cute slippers!!

I’d love the women’s slippers to give to my sister!

Oh - the men’s slippers for my brother. I owe him big time and he would love these.

Cute pajamas for my almost 2-year old (can’t believe he’s going to be 2!!!).

I would love the jammies for my five-year-old. He’s had those Lands End jammies before, and they wash up so well and are really cozy.
My husband still has the Lands End slippers I gave him a year or two ago. I’m good in the slipper department, and my daughter is still jamming her toes into bunny slippers that are two sizes too small and will not give them up for anything.

Oh I definitely need those comfy warm jammies. I’d give them to one of my little tornados. I can just seem him flying around the house on a cold winter day in them and then finally running out of steam and curling up in my lap for nap. Warm and fluffy. Must Have!

Pretty Please?

The shearling slippers for my son. It’s cold in MN and those look warm for his size 13 feet.

The pajamas for my son…we’re in northern Indiana. Already it was down to 15 degrees on Saturday morning and he needs to stay warm and snuggly (he’s only 3).

I would like the jammies please, for my son. He needs some new ones. We live in Los Angeles, so it is just starting to get cold (also known as less than 70 degrees). I need to keep my baby warm!

OOOH the jammies for my nephew. He’s so hard to shop for but those are soooooo cute.

Definitely the men’s slippers for my father. At 66, he just moved into a basement apartment (with hardwood floors) by himself. He could use some warmth!

I choose the slippers for myself because if I win, this will be my only gift this year.

My son would love those pajamas. They look so soft and warm.

The pajamas would go over well for my older son - thanks for the offer!

9 yr. old son needs some Big Kid pjs, please! He has grown 3 inches since June and just this past weekend said he looked like “Tom Sawyer” because his pajamas are ending in the middle of his calf :D

The boy’s penguin pajamas for my nephew, because they are so cute!

I would like the Angel fleece penguin pajamas for my 4 year old. They look nice and warm, and it is cold here!

I would love the fabulous shearling slippers to give to my husband, in the hopes that something that wonderful would entice him to stop wearing his shoes in the house.

We have a crawler now, and it gives me the heebies to think of her crawling over everything he’s walked on in a day!

Ooh! Fun!
I’ll take a Angel Fleece penquin pajama set for my 4 yr old.
Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Penguin pjs for my middle child. My oldest is too cool for “jammies” and my twins are too girly.

I would like the slippers for my Grandmother. She is FREEZING all of the time. She moved to Jackson MS from Waveland MS and she says it is so much colder up here. What? Thanks.

The cute pj’s for my 6 year old boy. He loves soft comfy pj’s. The nights get cold here and they would keep him warm and keep me from worrying. (yeah, ok, maybe not, but not about if he is going to get cold and wake me up in the middle of the night)

The PJs for sure–my 2 yo son is practically living in his, and needs new ones!

The PJ’s for my almost ten-year-old brother. He is growing up so quickly, and loves anything soft, fuzzy, and cuddly. I want to see him get soft comfy PJ’s for chrismakkah this year.

My brother would love the man slippers! He wears a size 13, so finding slippers in his size is tough. I would be sister of the year!

I would give the children’s pajamas to area foster care children.

My Liam would adore a new pair of jammies. He gets particularly proud when sporting new threads and would love some cuddly ones as we keep the house temp down to save $$$$!!!! New England is cold!

Santa’s elves always come and leave pajamas for my boys while they are bathing on Christmas Eve. The elves would love some help procuring some Rich Red/Cobalt Blue Boys’ Angel Fleece Pajamas in Big Boy Size Large for my hulky 8 year old son.

I think I’d go with the men’s slippers and give them to my father-in-law, bless his heart.

Definitely slippers for my man, to keep his toes warm (so they don’t shock me with their ice coldness under the covers)! Plus he deserves some coziness too.

I’d love the men’s slippers!!! I would give them to my southern California-born husband, who now lives in Boston with me, a yankee who refuses to heat our house…

The ballet slippers for sure! My mom (or I!) would love them for the cold cleveland winters.

I would give the shearling slippers to my son who has Raynaud’s Syndrome. His feet and hands are cold all the time and I am always on the prowl for super warm slippers and gloves.

I’ll take the men’s slippers in a size 12 please! For my husband of course!

I’d be generous and take the men’s slippers for hubby - his feet are ALWAYS freezing. This really would be a gift from me so I don’t have to listen to him whine about it anymore!

I’d love the angel fleece pajamas for my grandson. He sleeps all over his room (usually not the bed) so warm cozy pj’s are a must! He’ll be 3 in February and he really is an angel - when he’s sleeping! Happy Holidays.

My mother-in-law would love the travel slippers. She is big on no shoes in the house and wears slippers inside instead. And she would absolutely love the fact that they come with the cute bag for traveling because she is always off to visit family in Albania, Canada and North Carolina.

I would totally give the women’s slippers to my mom. She stays home with my 3 year olds and I know she gets tired of the plain sock thing. Maybe super nice slippers would make her feel like a queen? (A queen that wipes noses and cleans all day though!)

The travel slippers would be great!

Totally the pjs for my 8 yr old rascal… we are ALL about the jammies in this house! Pajama days are regularly implemented, there is nothing better.

I’d love the Angel Fleece pajamas for my son.

I would love to gift the slippers in the travel bag to my grandma…..they are SO her.

I would love the men’s slippers. My husband just mentioned today that he needs a new pair of slippers.

I would love to get my son the shearling slippers. He is alway up and down the stairs with no shoes or socks. It is cold here in the midwest, but you know teenagers. I think these would be just stylish enough that he would agree to wear them.

The shearling slippers for my husband. We can’t afford to buy each other gifts this year, so I’d love to suprise him with these. Since he has feet problems and can’t walk around barefoot, these would be perfect :-)

I would choose the PJ’s for my 5 year old son who would spend the day in has jammies if he could. It would also give him easier access to all things boy that he loves to scratch…literally. He spent an entire week at Disney with his hand scratching some part of his lower half. Every picture with a princess…his hand is scratching his butt. Lovely. He needs un-scratchy PJ’s!

The shearling slippers, for my husband. He ALWAYS has cold feet in the winter, and these would be perfect!

[…] don’t forget that you have until midnight tomorrow night to win cool stuff from Lands’ End!  Or warm stuff, really. Posted by Susan @ 7:17 am • talkin’ turkey, other places […]

I would like the angel fleece pajamas to give to the 8 year old boy who is a member of the homeless family that we are helping “adopt” for Christmas this year. Thanks for considering this request!

The pj’s for my son. They never have enough pj’s.

The angel fleece pj’s for sure…for MY Charlie ; )

The fleece pajamas would eb great for my son. He is 5 and loves to be comfy.

Since the men’s slippers don’t go big enough for my husband either, I’ll go for the pj’s for my son.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I would love to have the pajamas for my son, almost 4. It’s hard to find two-piece pjs for little boys (essential during the precarious days of potty training) that are also WARM, and I couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on a single pair.

I would give the shearing slippers to my husband. His birthday (41st!) is on Christmas Eve so he always gets cheated, present-wise and attention-wise, too!

I’d love the PJs for my son…

My son would love those pajamas! They’re adorable.

I would choose the darling penguin jammies for my 4 year old son. Its cold here in the sierra foothills and those look very toasty! :)

I’d pick the cozy pajamas for my 3 year old boy. And then I’d buy another pair for my 2 year old, because they must match.

I’d really like the slippers, for my wonderful Mom. She has the warmest heart but the coldest feet. And like them she is practical yet stylish.

The pjs would be perfect for my lovely nephew who I have yet to meet as he lives on the other side of the world from me.

I really must get started on my shopping . . .

[…] forget — contest ends tonight! Posted by Susan @ 9:31 am • talkin’ turkey […]

For sure the pajamas for my boys. If they sleep in their clothes one. more. time. I might have to stand on a ladder to slap them up side the head. They’re taller than I am now, hence the ladder. But taller does not equal smarter.

I would love to get the PJs for my big-bellied two year old. He would just look darling in it.

I would get the PJ’s for my son… I collect Penguins so they would be perfect!

The pj’s for my just turned six year old! He would love them!
