I’m so ready for fall; I’m tired of hot weather and my summer clothes and whatever it is that is making every single inch of me itch all the time.
Pollen. Feh.
There is one stretch of my block where the leaves are turning and starting to fall; for that three-house stretch each morning, my walk feels less like the bedraggled end of summer and more like the promise of a new season. My office is oddly cold, which is great because I can put on a pullover and pretend it’s cool outside while I’m working, but eventually I have to leave the house to go get the kids and then I remember just how not-fall-like it is outside.
But soon, soon it will be fall, for real.
Five things I love about fall …
1. Cardigan sweaters.
2. Boots with a skirt.
3. Cold mornings.
4. Scarves, just for pretty.
5. Food that needs to be cooked in the oven and served hot. Not doing that until the humidity drops, though. No way.

I heart fall.
I look forward to red and orange accents around the house.
I love it when the time changes and it gets dark at 5:00. I can stay in and cuddle with my kids under my favorite down throw.
I also love cooking hot dinners and scarves. And boots with a skirt, but my legs are too short to pull it off myself
Cannot wait

Football — you forgot sweatshirts and jeans and boots at football games!

Oh, I feel exactly the same way. I live in MN, and fall is my favorite season. Yesterday I wore a scarf to preschool drop-off–not a heavy or big one, just a little pretty flowered kerchief to brighten up a black t-shirt–and by pick-up I was in a total sweat. It’s still summer even in MN.

It was fall for ONE DAY in Portland. On that day, I made black bean soup in my crock pot. The next day, it was 85. Yes, Portland, it was ME who jinxed you.

I cannot wait to break my scarves back out. Lightweight, heavyweight, skinny, thick. Oh, how I love my scarves. and fall. Fall is my favorite season.

What happened to the new look?
Susan says: Apparently that template wasn’t working properly in IE, which was a bummer (especially since I couldn’t see the problems; I use Firefox and Safari). I’m still looking into a full site redesign, but I don’t have the time to do it myself right now and I spent my Redesign Fund on a plane ticket to San Francisco this weekend (whee!). So we’re back to the old template.
